New self employed courier driver from Leicestershire

Hi my names Paul, I've been made redundant from working in the cash and valuables industry (cvit) for over 36 years. I'm putting plans into place to become a self employed courier driver with a LWB vehicle. I'm hoping to be up and running by mid October, after 36 years I feel I deserve a few weeks relaxation. I'm based in North West Leicestershire and plan to cover nationwide deliveries as I enjoy crunching the miles. Any advice would be much appreciated. Paul

Hi Paul, welcome 👋 After 36 years in CVIT you’ve already got the reliability needed in this industry. With a LWB van and your love of miles, long-distance and same-day courier work will suit you more than multi-drop (Amazon Flex, DPD etc). A couple of options: Courier Exchange (CX): Biggest platform, but expensive to join. Sameday Courier Network (SDCN): Cheaper, pay-as-you-go, good for starting out.
