Hi my names Paul, I've been made redundant from working in the cash and valuables industry (cvit) for over 36 years.
I'm putting plans into place to become a self employed courier driver with a LWB vehicle.
I'm hoping to be up and running by mid October, after 36 years I feel I deserve a few weeks relaxation.
I'm based in North West Leicestershire and plan to cover nationwide deliveries as I enjoy crunching the miles.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Paul, welcome 👋 After 36 years in CVIT you’ve already got the reliability needed in this industry. With a LWB van and your love of miles, long-distance and same-day courier work will suit you more than multi-drop (Amazon Flex, DPD etc).
A couple of options:
Courier Exchange (CX): Biggest platform, but expensive to join.
Sameday Courier Network (SDCN): Cheaper, pay-as-you-go, good for starting out.
Direct clients: Longer-term goal, best money comes from your own customer base.
